(CHICAGO) Ford, Honda, and Nissan all reported big increases for trucks and SUVs. But that’s being offset by falling car sales, pushing overall sales for Honda and Ford down compared with last year.
Ford experienced the biggest drop, falling 7% from March of 2015. Ford Vice President Mark LaNeve says, “A 17% decline in fleet sales drove the majority of the year-over-year decline.”
Fiat-Chrysler sales were down 5% with the Jeep brand taking a hit last month. Honda’s sales were off by about 2 percent.
Nissan reported a gain of just over 3%. GM’s March sales were up just over 1.5%.
