(CHICAGO) A couple of days after a Chicago aviation officer was placed on leave in connection with Sunday’s removal of passenger Dr. David Dao, two more officers have been put on administrative leave, until further notice.
The Chicago Aviation Department says it is still reviewing the incident.
This, after United CEO Oscar Munoz told ABC News that they are never again going to put law enforcement officials on an aircraft to remove a booked, paid, and seated passenger. “This can never, will never, happen again on a United Airlines flight. That’s my premise and that’s my promise,” said Munoz.
United says it is going to give passengers who were on Sunday’s Flight to Louisville a refund.
Meantime, Chicago attorneys for the Kentucky doctor have made the first moves toward a lawsuit with an emergency filing in Cook County court to preserve all evidence in the case including surveillance video, cockpit voice recordings, and the city Aviation Department’s personnel reports for the police who removed Dao from the plane.
