(CHICAGO) Mayor Rahm Emanuel this afternoon took questions for the first time about last week’s United Airlines fiasco, but the mayor was conspicuous about not saying much.
Emanuel at least came out against a city aviation cop dragging a passenger down the aisle of a plane.
“I think it’s self evident, what everybody had the same [thought], from the people that were watching it live, to the rest of us that saw it in the video, you already knew that that was wrong and you don’t need a set of rules or guidelines to know that was wrong.”
But he’s not saying much about what to do about aviation cops.
“Right now a top to bottom review that in the next two to three weeks should be out and I don’t want to pre-judge that effort.”
Nor much about United.
“I think United, we have our work ahead of us and my focus to make sure what we do at aviation is the correct thing to do.”
Everybody else has a lot to say about the United fiasco, but the mayor, not so much so far.
