(CHICAGO) Heavy equipment maker Caterpillar is packing up it’s headquarters, driving right past Chicago, and north to an office park in Deerfield.
Caterpillar’s CEO says being close to the interstates, O’hare Airport, and Metra made the north suburb the right choice for customers, dealers, and employees.
Back in January, the company announced plans to move it’s headquarters from Peoria to the Chicago area. One-hundred employees will be relocated this year and by mid-2018, some 300 will be working at the new headquarters.
Deerfield is also home to Walgreens and Baxter International.
