(WASHINGTON) — Former Obama advisor David Axelrod says talk of Russian interference into the presidential election is one of the more interesting things to come out of the Comey testimony.
“One of the most moving and impactful parts of the Comey testimony was his testimony about what the Russian interference means to our country and that is something you’d love the President of the United States to embrace and clearly that has not happened,” Axelrod said Thursday while appearing on CNN.
Axelrod, who heads up the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago, says as far as any audio recordings of Comey’s meeting with Trump, he is doubtful they exist.
“The fact that everybody was asked to leave the room makes me less confident that we’re going to hear tapes, but maybe.”
