(CHICAGO) There are new tension between Mayor Emanuel and the state’s popular Atty Gen Lisa Madigan.
Lisa Madigan has been conspicuous lately in faulting Emanuel for backing off his promise to agree to a consent decree in federal court to reform police conduct.
She has said she might even go to court to get that.
When asked about this pressure from Madigan, the Mayor merely described the issue. “We need someone from the outside to help us. The only question is whether you want an individual or you need also a judge from the federal court.”
This latest dust-up is making some at City Hall wonder is Madigan is planning to run for Mayor in 2019.
