(CHICAGO) Mayor Emanuel used to be the #3 Democrat in the House, so he’s very familiar with the bi-partisan softball game for charity where usually divided lawmakers aren’t mean to each other.
He says that’s what makes the shooting all the worse. “A horrific event that I think that tears at the one event where you’re allowed bi-partisanship to build friendships and then work together.”
Emanuel hopes, if anything, the shooting will produce any bi-partisanship in Congress.
