(WAUKEGAN, Ill.) — Prosecutors say they will appeal after a judge Monday ruled that prosecutors can not present as evidence text messages and emails in the case of Melodie Gliniewicz.
The emails and texts were between Gliniewicz and her now deceased husband, Fox Lake Police Officer Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, who killed himself to try and cover up theft from a Fox Lake youth program.
Melodie Gliniewicz was indicted after her husband committed suicide in September 2015 and has pleaded not guilty.
The judge in the case says the communication are not admissible because it would violate state marital privilege laws.
