(CHICAGO) Bond has been denied for a Chicago man who is charged with killing his 3-year old daughter in the Little Village neighborhood early Sunday.
Eduardo Aleman, 26, faces one count of first-degree murder for beating his 3 year old daughter. Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jillian Anselmo says Aleman only stopped when he noticed that his daughter Jazebel wasn’t responding anymore.
“Jazebel sustained the following injuries: Fractured ribs, a contusion to her left lung, a ruptured small intestine, injured pancreas, and hemorrhaged skin – all of which could be attributed to a belt or punching,” said Anselmo.
Anselmo says Aleman told investigators that he had beaten the child for refusing to eat.
Before asking deputies to remove Aleman from the courtroom, the judge said that he “can only hope that justice is swift and sure in this case.”
