(SPRINGFIELD) Governor Bruce Rauner says he’s calling a special session of the legislature Wednesday if the Democrats haven’t sent him their school funding bill.
Rauner held a tense press conference, so tense he was getting his words wrong. Here he is trying to say the school funding bill should be on his desk. “It is wrong and unfair for Democrats to hold this school funding bill. There is no legitimate reason for that school funding bill to be on my desk right now.”
Rauner was ready to react to Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle calling him “evil” on Sunday’s “Connected to Chicago Show,” responding with a laugh, “Political rhetoric gets heated sometimes.”
