(CHICAGO) –– Chicago’s Top Cop Eddie Johnson made it official Wednesday by telling reporters that his son will be the donor of a new kidney.
After becoming dizzy at a January press conference, it was disclosed that Johnson was in need of a kidney.
Johnson’s son, 25-year-old Daniel Johnson, will be the donor.
The superintendent didn’t give a date for his upcoming surgery, but a police spokesman says it will likely take place in the next two weeks.
Johnson told reporters that he is optimistic the surgery will be successful.
