(CHICAGO) Today, Governor Rauner will be signing the landmark school funding bill into law.
Decades in the making and fully satisfying neither side, but Governor Rauner says he’s signing it because of the big achievement in it, adding “It’s more equitable and more fair so that we can make sure that every child in the state of Illinois gets a chance at an excellent education regardless of their parents’ income, regardless of where they live. This is a very, very exciting time.”
What’s especially important to the governor is he’s getting some school choice: tax credits for private school scholarships.
