(CHICAGO) Illinois Senator Dick Durbin thinks the solution to the controversy is for Congress to pass the Dream Act that he and Republican Sen Lindsay Graham have sponsored.
Graham called Durbin the father, grandfather and soon to be the great grandfather of the Dream Act for all of the times he’s proposed it.
Durbin says now is the time.
“Soem people look at the donut and just see the hole. If you look at the history of this, this measure has passed the House, has passed the Senate, but never at the same time. Now we have a compelling, timely reason. DACA is about to expire, we need to act on this or there’s a countdown clock to deportation for 780,000 of the best and brightest people in our country.”
Looks like the Senate would pass the Dream Act again, but the House is open to question.
