(CHICAGO) Illinois Senator Dick Durbin says there are a lot of reasons NOT to trust Iran, but compliance with the nuclear deal is not one of them.
Three downsides, he saysm including “Number one, another nuclear threat in the world if the Iranians develop nuclear weapons. How can that be smart? Secondly, our allies who stood behind us for this treat think we’re crazy. The sanctions worked! They forced Iran to the table. And now we’re in a situation where, sadly, we’re turning our backs on them. And finally, who’s gonna trust the United States to enter into any agreement in the future? If the president decides, just for the heck of it, to say we don’t think you’re living up to the deal, absent any proof.”
And while taping Connected to Chicago for Sunday night at 7, Durbin labeled Trump’s move against Obamacare subsidies “sabotage.”
