(CHICAGO) A man wanted for sexually assaulting a child in northwest Indiana is found in Iowa. Hiding under a bed in an Iowa apartment is where deputies say they found Esau Hernandez on Monday.
He had been missing since October 13th when police in Hebron, Indiana say they got a call about Hernandez and found out that he had taken off after his family had confronted him about sexually assaulting a child.
Searches took place from northwest Indiana up to the Illinois/Wisconsin state line. Over a week later, Hernandez was found in Ames, Iowa.
He now faces charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
