(CHICAGO) It was the day iPhone fans have long been waiting for, the day that the new iPhone X goes on sale. Hundreds of people lined up at the new Apple Store on Michigan Avenue on Friday. .
The phone’s thousand dollar price tag didn’t stop folks from braving the elements and spending the night in line outside the Apple store, to be among the first to own the iPhone X.
They came from far and wide. Kalpid Sarda, who is from India, tells ABC7, “Wanted to experience it once and that’s what I’m doing right now. It’s been a very good, crazy night. We made all these new friends, traveling. We just take a walk every couple of hours, just so that we get warmed up, then we come back and sleep again.”
Among other things, the new iPhone has an enhanced screen, an intuitive navigation that eliminates the home button, and facial recognition technology that allows people to use their face to open the phone.
