(CHICAGO) Chicago and Illinois did record film business last year.
Chicago looks great on TV in the Chicago series and in movies and commercials.
At the City Club, Chris Dudley who heads up the Illinois Film Office was revealing one of the secret locations for lots of the shooting, asking “Has anybody driven down I-55 and wondered what those big silos were? Guess who owns that. The State of Illinois. Why does the State of Illinois own that? I have no idea. However, it’s a marvelous location for shooting. If you stand there, the vista of the skyline is incredible. It’s also urban decay. It can really be a lot of different things.”
Last year, the state’s 30% tax credit to the film industry attracted over $400M of spending on nearly 14,000 jobs.
