(CHICAGO) — Early voting could be delayed because of candidate ballot challenges across parts of the Chicago area.
Early voting is supposed to kick off on Thursday but according to the Chicago Board of Elections, ballots will not be released on that date because of ongoing candidate objections.
Roughly 3 million registered voters in Chicago and suburban Cook County will be affected. DuPage County officials say they’ll delay until February 12.
The decision to delay early voting is up to each jurisdiction.
