As the streets in Philadelphia were in complete chaos after the Eagles Super Bowl victory, some are wondering if you noticed a difference in how these riots were covered.
Black Lives Matter New York President Hawk Newsome was one of those people who noticed a distinct difference in how the public and officials reacted to riots by fans compared to those prompted by civil unrest. “Somehow, it seems there’s a line drawn in the sand where destruction of property because of a sports victory is OK and acceptable in America.” he said.[van id=”us/2018/02/05/super-bowl-eagles-fans-philly-orig-lon-ak.cnn”]he added.
Philadelphia’s City Council thanked emergency responders “for their hard work” amid the riots saying, “This is the start of some long days and nights for them.”
