(CHICAGO) In the immigration reform fight, Chicago Congressman Luis Gutierrez is playing the race card today.
Gutierrez says he wants to wortk with Republicans on immigration reform, but he sure wasn’t sounding like it on the floor of the House, saying “The racists, and we must call them out for what they are, the racists who are driving immigration policy in the White House are defining the agenda for every House Republican and are shaping the brand of the Republican Party not just as the party of illegal immigration, but now as the party opposed to legal immigration!”
Fiery talk like that is why they call Gutierrez the “fighting rooster” but some say that playing the race card like that may do his cause more harm than good.
