(CHICAGO) American Airlines has come out AGAINST the city’s $8.5 billion OHare expansion plan, but Mayor Emanuel is brushing American off.
American claims the mayor made a secret deal with United to give it a competitive advantage with more gates.
Rahm doesn’t seem to care, noting “We’ll move forward and this is a very important day of righting the ship and writing a chapter in the City of Chicago that brings in my view thousands and thousands of jobs.”
But what if American sues?
“I’m not gonna answer a hypothetical, but I’ll just tell ya my general view,” said the Mayor, “Some people will look at litigation. I’m gonna look at aviation to secure a future for the City of Chicago.”
Also withholding support are the Latino aldermen who want a bigger piece of the pie of jobs and contracts.
