(CHICAGO) An 81-year old woman hailed a cab on Chicago’s north side last month so that she could visit her husband at a nursing home. Cook County Prosecutors say 46-year old Mohamed Omran stopped and picked up the woman.
Prosecutors say when the woman arrived at her destination, she asked Omran for help getting out of the cab because she uses a walker. However, they say Omran, instead, got into the back seat, choked the woman and then kissed her for several minutes as she tried to fend him off. He is also accused of groping the woman under her clothes.
The victim reported the attack when she arrived at the nursing home.
Omran, who was accused of similar behavior in Schiller Park in 2015, is now facing charges of attempted criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery to a person older than 60. His bail has been set at 30-thousand dollars.
