Plans for city’s second talent skyscraper announced

(CHICAGO) Plans for Chicago’s second-tallest skyscraper next to Tribune Tower have been announced.

Downtown Alderman Brendan Reilly says this skyscraper “seems like a pretty impressive addition” to the skyline and he says the added density is not as bad as it sounds. “It’s only a 200 room boutique hotel, only 125 condo units and then a little over 400 rental units.

Cameron: “Sounds like you’d be looking for a way to make it happen.”

Reilly: “My job as downtown alderman is to try to strike a fair balance between needs of the neighborhood and greater good for the city. Adding big iconic skyscrapers like this is good for the city. We just need to make sure we do our homework and make sure it’s right for the neighborhood too.”

The bigger hurdle for the project appears to be finding the financing for it.
