(CHICAGO) The U.S. Court of Appeals here in Chicago has ruled that the Trump Justice Department cannot block federal aid for the police department because it won’t help federal agents deport undocumented.
At City Hall, Mayor Emanuel took a victory lap bragging that Chicago doesn’t give an inch to Trump’s moves against cities.
And here’s how the mayor thinks it plays politically for the midterm elections, telling WLS’ Bill Cameron, “This is a situation where the right policy is the right politics. Sometimes those two split. Here is not the case. It’s zero for them and five for us.”
The mayor was referring to the five courts that have ruled against the Trump Justice Department.
