(SPRINGFIELD) Looks like Governor Rauner is going to win one in Springfield today.
Rauner vetoed the Democrats bill to license gun dealers.
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan was hoping the legislature could override Rauner’s veto, “Now, it doesn’t necessarily help with what’s going on with our border states. We’re all aware that there are a lot of guns that come in from Indiana and other states where there are very few regulations. But it doesn’t excuse us from doing all we can to better protect people living in our state.”
But Democrats apparently don’t have enough votes for the super-majority to override Rauner in the House so it’s a big victory for him and a big loss for Mayor Emanuel.
