In the race for mayor, challenger Paul Vallas officially announced his candidacy today at a press conference in which he compared Mayor Emanuel to Donald Trump.
For a full hour, the always-talkative Vallas regaled reporters with his experience balancing budgets and improving schools. Then he claimed Rahm Emanuel is “Trump-like.”: “Anytime you say something that’s not factually correct and you say it over and over and over again – even when faced with things that contradict what you’re saying – that’s very much Trump-like.”
Emanuel has actually been denouncing and suing Trump. On pocketbook issues, Vallas vaguely promised to make taxes, fines and fees hit the little guy less and the rich more. For example, he said it’s time to rethink red light cameras.
