Over 100 jobs will be lost, as First Midwest Bank moves to close 19 of its branches between now and the end of the year.
Crain’s reports about 7 percent of the bank’s workforce will be let go as 15 percent of the branch network is closed. A spokesman tells Crain’s that First Midwest will be cutting relationship managers in its commercial banking and wealth-management businesses.
First Midwest points to the rise of remote banking services as a reason for the closures. As of 5/22/18, there’s no available information as to which branches will be closed.
