(CHICAGO) The City Council has given Chicago’s final approval to the Obama Presidential Center.
47-1 was the vote at city hall, and up on the mayor’s rostrum, Obama’s former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel took note of the historic vote with this.
“In Virginia, there’s Monticello, there’s Mt Vernon. In Texas, they have two presidential libraries about this great American story”, said Emanuel, “And today we took a vote with courage and confidence about that future.”
Then the mayor left the rostrum give his old boss the good news via the phone.
