(CHICAGO) Taping “Connected to Chicago with Bill Cameron” for Sunday night at 7, candidate for mayor Lori Lightfoot revealed sexual harassment she had to endure in CITY government.
Years ago when she was investigating police shootings for the Chicago Police Dept, Lightfoot told Bill Cameron she had to set a harasser straight.
“He tried to make my life uncomfortable by saying things that were completely inappropriate in a mostly male environment when I was out investigating shootings with my team,” said Lightfoot. “You can be sure that didn’t last too long. I made him very clear that he needed to stop it and I said it in a very clear and frankly loud voice in front of a lot of witnesses. I made it very clear that if he didn’t back off and if he didn’t stop trying to humiliate me, I was going to hold him into account. And it stopped!”
And if elected mayor, Lightfoot vowed to all she can to prevent what she called that all too common practice from continuing.
