(CHICAGO) In the CPS sex abuse scandal, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is resisting calls for an independent investigation.
Just as he did before he caved to a Justice Dept investigation of the infamous police killing of Laquan McDonald, the Mayor is resisting an independent investigation of the sexual predators at the Chicago Public Schools not controlled by his CPS CEO Janice Jackson.
“I’m absolutely confidant in Janice’s leadership,” says Emanuel, “Absolutely confident as well in what she’s doing and what the board did the other day in hiring a former U.S. Attorney.”
But even the CPS IG says at least he should be doing the investigation NOT the CPS law department.
