(CHICAGO) Heavy rains continued to pound the Chicago area on Friday morning. The Chicago Transit Authority announced it was suspending service on the Yellow Line because of high standing water. The CTA says customers should take the number 97 bus from Skokie as an alternate.
Also, the National Weather Service says it is issuing a flood warning for residents who live near the DesPlaines, DuPage, and Fox Rivers. The Chicago area received over two inches of rain between Thursday and Friday morning, and six inches overall in the month of June, three inches more than normal.
The rain is supposed to taper off Friday afternoon.
