(CHICAGO) The pastor of a Chicago Roman Catholic Church has been stripped of his religious duties after an investigation, by a religious order, into allegations of improper conduct involving adult men.
A letter to the members of St. John Cantius Catholic Parish announced the removal of Reverend C. Frank Phillips.
Phillips’ attorney tells the Chicago Tribune that the review board determined Phillips had not violated any civil, canon or criminal law.
An Archdiocese spokesperson says although no church or secular law was violated by Philips there were standards of behavior Phillips did not meet.
