Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer is calling on Republicans to wait until after the November midterms to confirm a new Supreme Court Justice – hardly a surprise considering how this all played out last time.
To refresh your memory, Senate Republicans refused to vote on a replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia until after the 2016 presidential election was over.
Mitch McConnell says the Senate will confirm a nominee “in the fall” Schumer called that the “height of hypocrisy” and says Republicans should “follow the rule they set in 2016, not to consider a Supreme Court justice in an election year.”
