(CHICAGO) In the campaign for mayor of Chicago, former Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy is out with his crime reduction policy.
Surprising from a former top cop is that Garry McCarthy is against the new police academy.
“I will not waste $95 million on a new police academy just so we can say we’re all about police reform,” McCarthy says, “If we need to we will upgrade our facilities – and there’s plenty of abandoned facilities in this city that could be used for training purposes a lot cheaper than we’re talking about.”
Also in McCarthy’s crime reduction plan is getting political meddling out of Chicago PD.
