(CHICAGO) Chicago Mayoral challenger Willie Wilson was again handing out money today, this time at the Cook County Treasurer’s office mwhere it’s deadline day for paying property taxes.
It was a chaotic scene at the treasurer’s office as Willie Wilson handed out nearly $150,000 worth of $500 checks, not cash this time, to poor people.
He says he doesn’t know whether the flap over what he’s doing helps or hurts his campaign for mayor, “If this race is to be won, it’ll be won by Christ who is protecting me, helping to do this here. But I would never use any dollars that I have for any other thing to buy votes and never will. “
WLS: “Doesn’t do your campaign any harm, does it?”
Wilson: “I dunno. I think people are gonna judge you whether you do good or whatever you do wrong they’re gonna totally judge ya.”
Wilson says he’s going to keep giving away money.
