Some electric school buses are being promised from the proceeds of Volkswagen’s legal settlement after fudging its auto emissions reports.
Jen Walling of the Illinois Environmental Council has been pushing for this.
“There’s an irony in that we’re taking our kids to school in school buses when their lung health is being damaged everyday.”
Part of the proceeds will also be used to clean up some dirty METRA locomotives.
