In the race for mayor, Bill Cameron says former governor Pat Quinn has won a preliminary round at the Chicago Bd of Elections to try to prevent Mayor Emanuel from running for a third term.

Quinn’s got a couple of thousand more petition signatures than he needs to get his two-term limit on the November 6th ballot.
Next, Rahm’s forces will come at Quinn arguing that his referendum shouldn’t be on the ballot and even if it is and passes, it’s too late to keep the mayor off the ballot because nominating petitions for mayor are already being circulated. Quinn’s says the supreme court has already ruled against that angle too.
“If the mayor continues to attack with his surrogates and his operatives, I think he’s hurting himself. Where around the country there are people trying to suppress the vote and hurt voter rights, we don’t want that to happen in Chicago and I think the mayor ought to wake up and realize that.”
But the mayor does not realize that and the Democratic establishment runs the courts.
