(CHICAGO) In the race for governor, a contrite Governor Rauner is asking for a second chance.
Speaking slowly from a Teleprompter in a hotel being picketed by striking hotel workers, Rauner said he “may have overdone it on courage” including on the three-year budget impasse.
“I’m not perfect, but I have grown,” said the Governor, “And I’m still committed to doin’ what’s right for Illinois. State government of the insiders, by insiders, amd for the insiders is destined to fail the people.”
The Pritzker campaign responded by saying, “Bruce Rauner’s problem isn’t that he had too much courage, it’s that he spent four years refusing to compromise.”
