The Supreme Court of the United States starts a new term today. It does so with just eight justices as the Senate tries to make a decision on a potential ninth jurist.
The FBI is currently investigating Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during a supplemental investigation ordered by President Trump after pressure was applied from the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Whoever replaces Anthony Kennedy will likely miss the first oral arguments of the new term. However, the next justice to the high court will be able to catch up on those arguments via audio recordings and transcripts.
