Meng Hongwei, the president of the international law enforcement organization Interpol, has gone missing during a trip to his native China.
Officials say Meng arrived in China on a flight from Lyon, France, but he hasn’t been heard from since. His wife said on Friday she hasn’t heard from her husband since the end of September.
Some foreign outlets are reporting that Meng was taken away for questioning by the Chinese government, possibly as part of a corruption probe. Meng serves as China’s vice-minister of public safety.
