President Trump says his controversial decision to make fun of a woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh was done to “even the playing field”
Speaking to Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, Trump said that Kavanaugh was treated “very unfairly” and that once he decided to mock Ford’s testimony at a Mississippi rally, Kavanaugh’s confirmation “started to sail through”.
Trump had initially called Ford’s testimony “very compelling” and “a very fine woman”. But at the rally, he mocked Ford’s vague memory of certain details surrounding the alleged attack.
