Your kids may notice some of their friends staying home from school lately. The reason is simple. They don’t have an EpiPen to bring into school with them.
An EpiPen could be the difference between life and death for some kids with severe allergies. A shortage of EpiPens has led some schools to keep kids at home rather than running the risk of an allergic reaction threatening their life.
Chiquita Morris talked with CBS News about her son Eden’s situation. “There’s nothing else that made me feel worse than my son telling me, ‘Mom, why can’t I go to school? Why am I different from other kids?’”
