Turkish officials say they have audio and video footage of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi being tortured and killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
Khashoggi, who wrote columns for the Washington Post , has not been seen since entering the consulate last week. The Saudi government insists they are not involved and claim Khashoggi left the consulate on his own, even though his fiancee was waiting outside the entire time.
On Friday, President Trump promised to call Saudi King Mohammed Bin Salman about the situation, which he called “potentially a really, really terrible situation”. Many U.S. companies cut business ties with Saudi Arabia this week over Khashoggi’s disappearance.
