US Steel and the United Steelworkers have struck a four-year deal that will avoid a strike that could have affected thousands of American workers.
Details of the deal have not been disclosed but a US Steel CEO David Burritt called it “fair and in the best long-term interests of our employees and their families”.
The deal is expected to be fully ratified in the coming weeks. United Steelworkers represents over 16,000 workers in multiple states.
