A ‘senior adviser’ with the U.S. Treasury has been charged with leaking documents concerning the Russia investigation to media outlets.
Natalie Edwards was arrested on Tuesday. Prosecutors say she leaked confidential material to Buzzfeed pertaining to Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman who was found guilty of fraud.
The FBI says it found messages exchanged between Edwards and a reporter, and a thumb drive filled with confidential files. Edwards is charged with two counts that each carry up to five years behind bars.
