At least 50 people were killed when a train sped into a crowd of festival-goers in Amritsar, India.
A crowd of people had gathered on the tracks to watch a fireworks display during the Hindu festival of Dussehra. Officials say the train sped towards the crowd without warning, killing at least 50 and injuring dozens more.
Police say the noise from the fireworks may have kept people from hearing the train’s approach. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called it a “heart-wrenching tragedy”.
