On Wednesday, former Adidas executive James Gatto was found guilty of wire fraud by a jury in Manhattan federal court.
Gatto was found to have taken part in a scheme to bribe high school basketball players to attend Adidas-sponsored universities. In the process, Gatto defrauded universities and the NCAA.
Merl Code and Christian Dawkins were also found guilty of being a party to the scheme.
The allegations against the men? Working to arrange bribes for student-athletes to attend North Carolina State University, the University of Louisville, the University of Kansas, and the University of Miami.
