Free Hot Soup Kansas City is a group that feeds the homeless community in the city, but they were recently told to stop by local authorities.
“The health inspector and eight cop cars stopped us from doing what we do every Sunday,” said a volunteer. “We serve food every Sunday for about an hour and have a picnic with our friends.”
Despite hungry families showing up to get food from the group, authorities proceeded to throw away the food because “food cannot be served without a permit”.
Free Hot Soup Kansas City has been assisting the homeless for three years by supplying food.
