(HIGHLAND PARK, IL) A body found on a Lake Michigan beach Saturday in Highland Park has been identified as an Elgin woman who disappeared while swimming in hazardous waters, earlier this month.
Lena Lemesh, 52, was found dead, late Saturday morning, along the Lake Michigan waterfront near Fort Sheridan. Preliminary results from an autopsy Tuesday indicated that she died from drowning.
Lemesh had gotten into the water on the morning of November 4 with a “cold water swim group”. Heavy winds kicked up 12-foot waves.
46-year-old Stanislaw Wlosek Jr. of Itasca also struggled was pulled from the water but later died at a hospital.
