(CHICAGO) The City Council meets today and aldermen will approve Mayor Emanuel’s $10.7 billion budget for 2019.

It’s a no-drama budget because Mayor Emanuel’s NOT running for a third term.

If he were running, Ald Scott Waguespack – the leader of the progressives – says there would be drama, “When you look at the police overtime, the lack of transparency on a lot of those issues, we’d still hammer away at that. Where is this budget going in terms of police conduct. I know we have a consent decree and funds coming in for that. I think people would be pushing a lot more on that.”

For now, all of the drama is coming from the candidates to be the next mayor of Chicago.
